Estimation Estimation is used as a guide to determine the closeness of a result to the actual answer

Estimation involves simplifying numbers so that computation is much easier . (For example, it is much easier to add or multiply by 600 as compared to 589 ).

There are several methods for simplifying numbers as seen in the examples below :
