  The Number Line (as shown above) can be used to show the addition of two numbers.
To find the total of  7 + 3 , begin at 0 and draw an arrow 7 units long, moving to the right, which represents 7.  From the tip of the arrow draw (add) another arrow 3 units long moving right. The tip of this second arrow now points the total which is 10.
