The starting point where the time is set to
zero is located at Greenwich England and is regarded as the standard time
called Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
From this location or line of longitude, times at other locations or other
time zones can be calculated.
This is done by adding one hour for every time zone or 15 degrees difference
to the East of GMT (at zero degrees longitude),
or subtracting one hour for every time zone or 15 degrees difference to the
West of GMT (at zero degrees longitude). |
