Roman Numerals |

After over
2000 years, Roman Numerals are still being used today, and can be seen on
the faces of some of our clocks and watches.
The shapes of these numerals are similar to the formation of our fingers
when we are counting as can be seen in the picture below.
The place value of these numerals are of little or no significance except
for later on when smaller numerals like one placed before a larger numeral
like five would have a total value of four.
A one placed after a five would however have the value of six.
